We are a dedicated digital learning hub designed specifically to solve one of the most critical challenges in Ethiopian education today. Built by the creators of the Addis Astemari EdTech platform, we have evolved from simply providing the digital tools for schools to taking direct responsibility for the learning experience itself.
Our Story: A Deliberate Shift
Addis Astemari began with a clear mission: to provide Ethiopian schools with the digital infrastructure they needed to teach in the modern world. We built the platform, and schools successfully digitized their classrooms.
However, as more learners joined, we discovered a deeper truth: access to technology does not automatically create understanding. We realized that many bright, capable students in Ethiopia struggle with their studies not because of a lack of ability, but because of a language barrier. Because English is the medium of instruction for most key subjects, a weak foundation in English means students cannot fully engage with their textbooks, follow complex lessons, or succeed in exams.
We knew we had to fix the foundation. That realization birthed Addis Astemari Learn - a shift from merely enabling education to actively shaping it.
What We Do
Addis Astemari Learn is our direct teaching hub. It is not a fragmented marketplace or a side project; it is Addis Astemari applying strong pedagogy to its own technology.
Starting with English for Learning, we provide highly structured, video-based courses designed specifically for the realities of Ethiopian students:
- Progressive Levels: Our courses follow a clear, international structure from complete beginner (A1) to advanced mastery (C2). We break levels down into manageable, bite-sized steps (like A1.1 and A1.2) so learners progress with clarity and confidence.
- Practical & Everyday English: We don't just teach grammar rules; we teach the English students actually need to understand their school subjects and engage meaningfully in the classroom.
- Tested & Proven Quality: Every lesson is carefully designed to build upon the last, ensuring that learning is guided, intentional, and effective.

Addis Astemari Learn serves as our flagship "model school." It is where we test, refine, and prove the best digital teaching methods.
This creates a powerful, continuous cycle of improvement: our teaching experience helps us build a better software platform, and our platform enables better teaching. Once we prove a new feature or course method works on Addis Astemari Learn, we roll it out to our wider network of partner schools across Ethiopia. Partner schools can even choose to adopt our English courses directly into their own curriculums.
