English B1 Part 3: Advanced Structure & Describing the World

About The Course
This capstone course for the B1 level equips you with the tools to write and speak about abstract, objective topics. The main grammatical focus is on introducing the Passive Voice in the present and past tenses, which is essential for formal and factual writing (e.g., the bridge was built in 1960). Furthermore, you will learn to use Relative Clauses (who, which, that, where) to embed multiple ideas into one smooth, complex sentence, significantly increasing the quality of your descriptive writing. Functionally, the course applies this language to discussing media, news reports, and technological inventions, allowing you to articulate your understanding of the world with greater complexity.
What You Will Learn
Use Passive Voice: Form and use the Present and Past Simple Passive to describe processes and events without naming the doer of the action.
Form Complex Sentences: Use Relative Clauses (who, which, that, where) to add detailed, essential information to a noun.
Discuss Media & Technology: Talk about different forms of media, news articles, and the impact of technology with objective language.
Refine Time Expressions: Master the use of time-related vocabulary and prepositions (e.g., during, while, until).
Describe Inventions: Use appropriate vocabulary and grammar to describe how things were invented and how they function.
Requirements
Successful completion of B1 Part 2 (or equivalent knowledge of the Second Conditional and basic Reported Speech). Willingness to master grammatical structures for more formal communication. Access to the internet for video lessons.
